Hand Held Wedding Candles

Here at Dahlia, we aim to provide you with unique and traditionally inspired candle ("lambades" or "lambathes" in Greek) designs that will be the perfect detail for your ceremony.

We use candles made by local artisans that use 100% highly refined and dense, white paraffin wax. The wax is dipped one paper-thin layer at a time to ensure a beautiful matte finish. The candle’s pure cotton wick allows for a slow, calm, long-lasting burn at a rate of approximately 1” per hour. The designs start at a level on the candle that is appropriate to the amount of time that you need the candles to burn during the wedding.

Although most of the materials we use to create the designs on our candles are purchased in the US, some of our laces are imported from Europe. We combine well-coordinated fabrics that create elegant designs. We take into consideration the desires of the bride and groom, the new design trends, and the overall beauty of your wedding day.

It is common in the US for churches to ask you to purchase two handheld candles for the sacrament. The candles will be held by the bride and groom. This is a mandatory item that you will need to acquire for the wedding. All our candles are available for purchase as a set or individually (for Koumbaro, priest, or decorative purposes). We offer hand-held wedding candles in 17", 21” or 24” tall sizes. Depending on the design of the candle, multiple lengths may be available for purchase. Please contact your church to find out what they recommend for your sacrament.
